Awestruck Labs, LLC ("Awestruck Labs," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website AwestruckLabs.com and the OutFokus newsletter. We are a foresight-driven go-to-market firm based in the United States.

2. What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • The AwestruckLabs.com website
  • The OutFokus newsletter (delivered via Beehiiv)
  • Contact and inquiry forms on our website
  • Scheduling interactions through Calendly
  • Any other digital property where this policy is linked

This policy does not apply to third-party websites or services we link to. Those services have their own privacy practices and we encourage you to review them.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

Newsletter subscription (OutFokus via Beehiiv): When you subscribe to OutFokus, we collect your email address. If the signup form requests additional fields, we collect those as well (e.g., first name, company).

Contact and inquiry forms: When you submit a form on our website, we collect the information you provide, which typically includes your name, email address, company name, and the content of your message.

Scheduling (Calendly): When you book a meeting through Calendly, you provide your name, email address, and any information you include in scheduling fields (e.g., meeting topic, phone number). Calendly processes this data as a separate controller under its own privacy notice. We receive the booking details you provide.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

Analytics (Google Analytics 4): We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our website. GA4 collects data including: pages visited, time on site, referral source, approximate geographic location (city-level), device type and browser information, and interaction events. GA4 uses first-party cookies to distinguish unique users. IP addresses are processed by Google but are not stored in their full form by default in GA4.

Cookies and similar technologies: Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. See Section 7 for details.

Server logs: Our hosting provider automatically collects standard server log data, including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages requested.

3.3 Information from Third Parties

Beehiiv: Beehiiv provides us with engagement data about newsletter subscribers, including open rates, click-through rates, and interaction patterns. This data helps us understand what content resonates and improve the newsletter.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To deliver services you requested: Sending OutFokus newsletters, responding to inquiries submitted through our contact form, and facilitating meetings booked through Calendly.

To improve our website and content: Analyzing website traffic and user behavior through GA4 to understand what works and what needs improvement.

To communicate with you: Responding to your questions, sending service-related communications, and (only with your consent) sending marketing communications.

To comply with legal obligations: Maintaining records as required by applicable law, responding to legal requests, and protecting our legal rights.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Who We Share Your Information With

We share personal information only with the following categories of third parties, and only to the extent necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

We require service providers to process your data only on our instructions and in accordance with applicable privacy laws. We do not sell personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or other third parties.

Legal and safety disclosures: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

After the retention period, data is deleted or anonymized. Beehiiv and Calendly may retain data under their own policies; see their respective privacy notices for details.

7. Cookies

7.1 What Cookies We Use

Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the website to function. These do not require consent.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4): Used to collect anonymized data about website usage. GA4 sets the following cookies:

Third-party cookies: Beehiiv may set cookies when you interact with embedded newsletter signup forms. Calendly may set cookies on its scheduling pages.

7.2 Managing Cookies

Global Privacy Control (GPC): We honor GPC signals. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out request under the CCPA.

8.1 Rights Under the CCPA (California Residents)

Right to know: You may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the third parties with whom we share it.

Right to delete: You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.

Right to correct: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information.

Right to opt out of sale or sharing: We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. No opt-out is necessary, but we honor the request if made.

Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined under the CCPA.

8.2 Newsletter Subscribers

You may unsubscribe from OutFokus at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email. After unsubscribing, we will stop sending you newsletters and delete your subscriber data within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us at hello@awestrucklabs.com and we will delete it promptly.

10. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure service provider selection, and access controls.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take data protection seriously and respond promptly to any suspected breach.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through a prominent notice on our website.

Your continued use of our website or newsletter after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
